This January, Brass Out Loud had our first virtual workshop and it was a huge success! Over 50 participants from four different countries attended. We had 23 faculty members of which over 70% were female, trans, non binary, and/or BIPOC. With our diverse faculty and participants, we learned how to be better musicians and most importantly better people. Thank you to everybody who attended and to our sponsors for supporting our mission!

Over the course of 3 days, participants received over 11 hours of instruction varying from performance based classes to entrepreneurship and mindfulness classes. Both Friday and Saturday concluded with a panel discussion in which members of our diverse faculty offered perspectives on how to be anti-racist and inclusive in our circles.

Following this weekend of jam-packed courses, participants and faculty were invited to a Zoom "hang" where we all discussed what we learned as well as future plans for Brass Out Loud. As a result of these conversations, we now have a "news" tab on our website where resources will be posted and updated often. We will also be continuing to host panel discussions on relevant issues throughout the year.
